Taking pointers from what felt good in our room at Corsica Studios, we’re going back to our roots for this next outing with the kind of party that can’t fail to reward – a small but perfectly formed number in an enclosed space for an extended knees up in the reliable hands of a maestro disc jockey.

Simulacra Studios is the spot, five minutes walk from Brixton underground, it’s a wooden dance floored square box with lofted ceilings, mezzanine area and a slamming smoking section, all nestled within a railway arch.

Tristan Da Cunha is your maestro. Representing Leeds this man has charmed dancefloors from here to Bagdad with his sheer depth of spirit, quality and variety of selection within the funk – soul – disco – house continuum. A true discotheque champion, since the early noughties he has held a residency at the longest running, and probably most respected weekly club night in the UK – Back To Basics.

More recently he has been turning water into wine for cities across the party map with one of the crews of the moment – My Love Is Underground, and with the burgeoning beginnings of his own record label entitled “Dungeon Meat” alongside kindred house upstart Brawther, Tris is just too hot to hold right now!
